Spices do not go bad, but they do lose their potency as time goes by. The older the spices are, the less flavor they will impart in your recipes. We source only the highest quality, freshest spices available for our blends. To fully enjoy them at their best, we recommend using our spices within a year from the date of purchase.
Our jars are specially designed to help store your newly bought spices. After using them, be sure to seal lids properly. Keep jars in a dry, dark place in your cupboard. Direct contact and/or extreme exposure to light, air, heat, coldness, and moisture can shorten each spice’s shelf life.
The spice you choose for a certain food or beverage or the quantity you use is up to you. Some people like their food to have a strong flavor while others prefer a milder one. If you are not sure what kind of food or beverage can work best with your spice, you can check our recommendations on the relevant spice page or on the spice’s label. You can also acquire our cookbook in hard copy or as an e-book by clicking here.
You can mix the spices in any way you like. It’s completely up to your imagination.
Four of our blends have seafood essence in them, which is not kosher. And while all the remaining spices have no unkosher ingredients in them, we do not have any kosher certification.
On each spice page and jar you will find info about the spice and its main ingredients. Ingredients that may cause any allergy are mentioned under the Special Ingredients column in the individual spice page. If you are not sure about an ingredient, please contact us before using the spice.
Our spices do not contain gluten, but cannot be considered 100% gluten-free due to the possibility of cross-contamination from gluten-containing products and ingredients.
We offer a seasonal line of French-style biscuits, all based on traditional recipes using nuts and fruit mixed with spice blends from the store.
Our seasonal biscuits collection consists of five different flavors of biscuits, which change every six months. Each box usually contains about 40 to 60 biscuits.
No. The biscuits are made in a traditional way, and they contain flour, sugar, and butter.
If the collection contains nuts, it will be listed as an ingredient on the box. However, we are unable to guarantee a 100% nut-free baking environment.
The biscuits have no unkosher ingredients in them, but they are not certified. The biscuits are made with butter, and they are lacteal.
La Boîte releases a new line of biscuits every six months. Each time, the biscuits’ tin box is designed in collaboration with a different artist. Their works are also on display at our store in NYC. Click on the Tracking Number to be taken to the FedEx Shipment Tracking page to track your order.
If the bill-to address and ship-to address are different, our system will automatically print a gift slip without prices on it to be included with the order.

Yes. All our products leave the store after they have been nicely wrapped.
Credit card payments are processed through Chase Paymentech as you place your order. The following credit cards, issued by a U.S. financial institution, are accepted for payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
