Beef Kebab
This is a simple recipe for beef kebab that can be grilled or baked as a meatball. You can play with different spices using the same method and main ingredients.
Main Course
16 pieces
Lior Lev Sercarz
Olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
Salt
1 Tbsp Izak N.37, divided
1 pound ground beef (I used short-rib)
1 bunch of cilantro, washed and chopped fine
Heat a bit of olive oil in a pan and cook the onions and garlic with some salt and half of the Izak spice for about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let them cool down.
Preheat the grill to high.
In a bowl mix the ground beef, remaining Izak spice, chopped cilantro, cooked onions and season with salt. Divide the mix into 16 equal balls and shape them into little football like patties. Place them on metal or wooden skewers.
Cook the kebabs on the grill for about 4 minutes on each side. You can also bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
Try serving them with grilled pita and toum.
• Replace the onion with 1 1/2 cups of chopped cooked leeks.
• Add 1/4 cup of chopped fresh mint to the meat mix.
