My recent purchase was for a gift, as I have been using my original one for quite a while. I love the blend of anise in it. I've used it in place of cinnamon in baking sometimes but my all time favorite is on top of oatmeal. I flake my own toasted oat groats, add dried cherries and our own raisins and a little maple flavoring. Serve it with milk and cream and a dusting of Reims N. 39. Delicious!
I spice oatmeal with this wonderful combination. My husband is diabetic so I don’t add anything but a teaspoon of Reims to the oats as they are cooking. It has just enough sweetness to be tasty and healthy, too. Add a few blueberries or a couple of cut strawberries (or both) to the bowl and you have restaurant-quality gourmet porridge!!
I recently brought Reims into our life! The first time, we sprinkled it on vanilla gelato, the purist’s way of assessing its taste. The cardamom and star anise were unexpected (to our guests) and simply delicious. Great choice…on my part!!!!
